Having recently left the Royal Air Force, Rob has 22 years’ experience as a leader, manager, coach, mentor and trainer.
He also has operational experience in the UK and overseas. By trade he is a Weapons (Aircraft) Controller, which involves the tactical control of aircraft within the battlespace to ensure flight safety, as well as the tactical achievement of the mission. As a Master Controller he led UK Air Defence Command and Control operations, ensuring the security of UK airspace, as well as carrying out the role during operations in Afghanistan and the Falkland Islands. This required expert leadership of large operational teams in time critical situations.
Rob has vast instructional experience having completed three assignments in the Phase 2 training environment of the School of Aerospace Battle Management, from basic Aircraft Control Instructor to Executive Officer. He was also an assessor as part of the Standards and Evaluation unit and a subject matter expert in Command and Control, Air Operations, Human Resource Management, Leadership and Training.
Rob held the post of Air Operations Career Manager for 2 ½ years, responsible for the career management of 500+ personnel. He has also completed two overseas assignments in the multinational environment of NATO, at Senior Officer level.
Rob is passionate about coaching, and in July 2023 he realised his dream of becoming a Life and Performance Coach by starting his business Trail Finder Coaching. He already had mentoring and coaching qualifications (ILM accredited) and is currently completing a level 5 diploma in Personal Performance Coaching for his own CPD.
Rob transitioned to civilian life in August 2023 and as a family they are based in Alnwick, Northumberland.
